Temple has extensive experience with lung transplant for patients traveling from several hours away. We have developed a streamlined program for out-of-state travel that makes the process as convenient as possible for you and your support persons.

CONDITIONS THAT MAY LEAD TO LUNG TRANSPLANT

People with the following conditions may be eligible for a lung transplant at the Temple Lung Center:

  • Pulmonary hypertension
  • Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF)
  • Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), including emphysema
  • Alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency
  • Bronchiectasis
  • Sarcoidosis
  • Heart and lung conditions present at birth (congenital heart and lung conditions)
  • Lymphangioleiomyomatosis (LAM)
