Occupational lung diseases or work-related lung diseases are conditions caused by or made worse by certain work environments that expose workers to harmful substances. These diseases, such as work-related asthma, silicosis, “Farmer’s lung”, and more can be caused by breathing in dusts, chemicals, and fibers. They can also be caused by the body’s immune response to these exposures. They may have lasting effects, even after exposure has ended.
