BETTER SLEEP WITH THE TEMPLE LUNG CENTER

EXPERT TREATMENT FOR SLEEP APNEA AT TEMPLE LUNG CENTER

If you’re snoring or feeling sleepy during the day, it could be more than just a bad night’s sleep. You may have sleep apnea, a condition where breathing is repeatedly interrupted throughout the night. This is a serious condition that could lead to health problems if left untreated.

At Temple, patients benefit from a team of sleep specialists who provide care through all stages of evaluation and treatment. We typically can see patients, evaluate them, and begin treatment much more quickly than other sleep centers, sometimes within a few days.

TREATMENT OPTIONS TAILORED FOR YOU

EXPERTS IN SLEEP APNEA CARE

Most often, sleep apnea is diagnosed with a sleep study, conducted either at home or in a specialized sleep center. Once diagnosed, your Temple doctor will ask you questions about your sleep and health habits, symptoms of sleepiness, and current medications. Once diagnosed, you can begin a treatment plan that might include:

  • Making lifestyle changes, such as dieting, exercising, limiting alcohol and quitting smoking
  • Improving sleep hygiene by creating a cool, dark sleep environment and limiting electronic use before bed

If lifestyle changes aren’t enough, your doctor may recommend additional treatments, such as:

  • Continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) therapy
  • Custom-fitted dental device
  • Small implanted device that delivers mild stimulation to nerves and muscles
  • Surgery

At the Temple Lung Center, we want to help you take your life back. Through advanced treatments and technology, our highly experienced team can help you breathe easier and live better. Even better, you can find our experts close to home at one of our convenient locations.
